Go Green Drive launched with a pledge to protect saplings
23 August 2026

A two-day Go Green Drive began in Punjab on Saturday with a focus on plantation and the long-term care of saplings. Environment & Social Justice Commission Chairman Ritik Arora planted trees with Advocate Manish Mahajan and local traders.
Arora said the drive is not only about planting. Communities must protect young plants until they grow into trees. Awareness programmes are being held across districts on 22 and 23 August.
The campaign started at the district level from Mandi Gobindgarh, with outreach also planned in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Moga.
