Under the Go Green Drive for environment protection in Punjab, a target of 10,000 saplings was set for Amritsar and nearby areas.
Environment & Social Justice Commission Chairman Ritik Arora started the Amritsar programme by planting at Pawan Ghar. He said people must become more aware of the environment and care for plants after planting them.
Punjab Commission office-bearers, Amritsar Gaushala representatives and social workers were present at the programme.
