ESJC puts flood readiness and water care at the centre of Punjab work
2 September 2026

As Punjab moves through the late monsoon period, flood risk and water stress remain urgent. The Environment & Social Justice Commission of India has put flood readiness and water care at the centre of its Punjab work for 2026-27.
National President Ritik Arora has said the Commission will build a statewide network of volunteers and experts to respond to climate shocks, especially floods.
The same plan covers groundwater conservation and rainwater harvesting, alongside clean-air and tree plantation programmes.
